NATIONAL FISH HABITAT ACTION PLAN
EASTERN BROOK TROUT JOINT VENTURE COST SHARE PROGRAM
2008 FEDERAL FUNDING CYCLE

APPLICATION ANNOUNCEMENT
June 1, 2007

The Eastern Brook Trout Joint Venture is requesting proposals to restore and conserve habitat necessary to support existing populations of brook trout that are healthy and productive and to restore habitat that has historically sustained brook trout populations. Applications must be received in electronic and hard copy format as outlined below by COB Friday, August 17, 2007. Proposals received after the deadline will be discarded and not considered.

Funding available through the National Fish Habitat Action Plan will be used to fund the top ranked proposals. The funding amount and time of availability is unknown at this time. You will be notified of your proposal’s regional score and Joint Venture rank by October 12, 2007. You will be notified of your funding status as that information becomes available. Proposals should range from $10,000 to $50,000 in grant request and must have a minimum of a 1:1 match from other sources. These funds can only be used for on-the-ground habitat conservation and improvement projects and related design and monitoring activities. They can not be used for acquisition in fee or easement. Ranking criteria by which all proposals will be scored can be found at www.easternbrooktrout.net. Proposals will be sorted by region and a minimum of one proposal will be selected for each region as funding allows.

Projects funded in the 2007 funding cycle can be found here.
